Aston Martin DB9 Sports Pack (2005)

The DB9 was the first Aston Martin to completely depart from the 'old ways'. With an all aluminium monocoque chassis clothed in a mixture of aluminium and composite preformed body panels and all bonded together, this was a radical departure from the handcrafted Astons built at Newport Pagnell.

 

In association with our friends at Arun Holdings, we are now offering this DB9 which was first registered in January 2005, sold through Harwoods of Chichester and comes in Titanium Silver with a Moon Shadow leather and Phantom Grey carpet interior. It was specified with the ZF Touchtronic II 6 speed gearbox with various options such as a heated windscreen, powerfold mirrors, heated front seats and cruise control, in addition to standard features such as climate control and satellite navigation.

The V12 engine now produced 450bhp @ 4,750rpm with 420lb/ft of torque @ 5,000rpm making this Aston a true GT car, with a top speed of 186mph and reaching 60mph in 5.1s. Figures that are more than adequate. A V12 sound is getting rarer and rarer these days, so this is an opportunity to remind yourself of that glorious howl.

 

In February 2007, the car was returned to Harwoods for a factory supplied sports pack which transformed the suspension, and thus handling, through various upgrades and the addition of unique 5 spoke alloy wheels. Back in 2004, Evo magazine was one of the very few publications that were critical of the DB9's handling. But after driving an upgraded car with the sports pack, they were impressed - and completely won over.

 

Until July 2010, this DB9 was serviced by Aston Martin main dealers Harwoods of Chichester, Lancaster of Cambridge and Stratstone of Wilmslow. After which, the last owner exported the car to Spain where it was still serviced by the main Aston Martin dealer in Malaga, where the plugs and coils were replaced at 40,000 miles in March 2017, as well as a vehicle specialist in Cadiz for lesser issues, until its return to the UK in September 2022.

Since its return, the car has undergone a full inspection and resolution of certain faults along with a full service by marque specialists Chicane, thus bringing this DB9 back into full working order. With the mighty 6 litre V12 controlling a much improved chassis and suspension thanks to the sports pack upgrade, this is one DB9 that will set the pulse racing and have you searching out those winding and twisting open roads.
